Most people know that good nutrition is important for good health. Just how “incredibly” important, you might be surprised.

We have often seen people eating unhealthy foods after an hour of morning walk/exercise session. Two days back, I was shocked to see people eating “pakoda” and “puff” inside the gym after workout. Once a girl told me that she has a habit of eating “mango dolly” after every workout.

The truth is: No matter how hard you exercise, it's all in vain if you don't provide yourself with the right nutritional support.

Exercising Cannot Erase All of Your Bad Eating Habits

Still lots of people think that if they exercise regularly, they can eat whatever they want. Even if you get in seven workouts each week, so does that mean you can eat whatever you want. It also doesn’t mean that you can eat whatever you want in weekends.

You could eat whatever you wanted in high school and stay thin. But unfortunately you are not 15 anymore, and even if you work out ‘round the clock, you can’t transform your body if you constantly give in to cravings, high-fat foods, and sweet treats.

Always remember. No amount of cardio, crunches or any form of exercise can sculpt a sleek physique if you maintain an unhealthy diet.

High Protein Nutritious Diet Puts Your Body on Fat Burning Mode Permanently

High protein nutritious diets have a “metabolic advantage”. Protein requires much more energy to metabolize than fat and carbs.

If we go with a thermic effect of 25% for protein and 2% for fat, this would mean that 100 calories of protein would end up as 75 calories, while 100 calories of fat would end up as 98 calories.

So if you increase your protein intake, then you start losing fat on autopilot mode because protein helps boost your metabolism so you burn more calories even if you are at rest.

Good Nutrition Fixes The Hormones That Make Us Fat

There are “Hormones” that make us eat more and exercise less. Increased food intake and decreased exercise, is secondary to changes in the function of hormones. The foods we eat disrupt the function our hormones, which makes us eat more and gain weight.

Leptin is the “master hormone” of body fat regulation. Its main role is sending a signal to the brain that we have enough energy stored and that we don’t need to eat. Simply put, leptin is supposed to tell the brain "Stop eating more food, we don’t need to eat". Decreasing the intake of sugar, oils and ghee help you balance your leptin hormone.

Good Nutrition Increases Your Testosterone Level Naturally

Testosterone is the sex hormone that helps increases muscle mass and strength, reduces fat, stimulates sperm production, empower sex drive and maintain bone strength.

Loss of muscles mass, inability to build muscles, low energy levels, increased body fat and mood changes are the symptoms of low testosterone levels. If you have low testosterone levels, you don't feel like working out and you don't enjoy workouts.

Zinc is very important for the production of natural testosterone because Zinc prevents testosterone from being converted into estrogen (the female hormone). Zinc itself turns estrogen into testosterone and Zinc helps produce healthier sperm and higher sperm counts.

Foods high in Zinc are seafood, fish, oysters, beef, lamb, pork, chicken, wheat germ, spinach, nuts, seeds, mushrooms and beans.

It's True: You Are What You Eat

When a person is nutritionally starved, he/she may face complexes like overweight, dull skin, poor quality hair, discoloration of teeth, under eye dark circles, dented bones, low energy, loss of muscle mass, loss of strength and loss of agility. While a person having a good nutrition, he/she will appear attractive and feel fit, cheerful and energetic.

When your body is healthy on the inside, your skin will appear radiant and beautiful. Eating well and staying hydrated allows your body to flourish from within. By drinking plenty of water this aids the body in flushing out harmful toxins. When we consume more healthy foods such as fruits, vegetables, meat, milk, legumes, and nuts, we allow our bodies to feel healthier, and as a result, we become more visually appealing.
