India – thankfully -- is not in the list of world's fattest countries.

The chart below, made for the World Health Organization, shows 188 countries ranked in descending order by the percentage of their population that is overweight or obese, which is defined as having a body mass index of over 25.



Along with the growing trend of fitness and smartness, obesity has also surpassed its all previous records in the world’s history.


The growing trend of fast foods and laziness are two very common factors that have contributed a lot of compelling the WHO to take notice of the obesity also along with other diseases and health condition on the world map.

Check out the top fifteen fattest countries and the proportion of their obesity.

15. Hungary; obesity rate 30%

Developed countries face more obesity as compared to the developing countries because development has decreased the physical activity of people and the machines have taken the place of the body. The people of the developed countries are also fonder of fast foods and processed foods. Same is the case with that is a developed country and ranks as the fifteen fattest country of the world in the year 2015.

14. Venezuela; obesity rate 30.8%

Nicolas Mudaro has taken many deliberate steps to lessen the obesity rate of the country but all in the van. The growing trend of the junk foods and the cheap rates of the fast and junk foods are the cardinal factors in increasing the obesity rate of the people. The obesity rate is approaching 40% in the country.

13. Libya; 30.8%

The obesity rate of the Libya is also same as of Venezuela. In this country the women are more obese as compared to men. It cultural norms of Libya discourage the education and mobility of the women and this is the reason ladies are getting more obese in this country.

12. Syria; 31.6%

Here again women are more obese due to the cultural and gender discrepancy. Women are not allowed to move out of the home and this is the reason that 70% women in this country are obese. The obesity rate of women aged 46 to 65 is 83%. Now due to awareness and advancement girls are allowed to move out and in girl’s obesity ratio are less.

11. United states; 31.8%

The obesity rate of the United sates decreases in the year 2015 as compared to its previous rates. The word’s super power is very keen and fond of junk foods. Obesity is common among teenage boys and girls.

10. Bahrain; 32.6%

It is another Arab country that is ranked 10th among the fattest countries of the world. The World Health Organization has stated that 66% of the adult population of Bahrain are obese? The obesity level of girls is 42% and of boys is the 29%.

9. Mexico; 32.9%

The food standards of the Mexican people have changed greatly in last ten years. The junk foods are cheating here. Now the Government has planned to impose taxes on soda beverages in order to decrease the obesity rate.

8. Qatar; 33%

It is the oil and natural gas super power of the world. On one hand, this is the richest country of the world while on the other it is poorer in eating habits because the people not curious about their health. Poor eating habits have increased the obesity rate.

7. South Africa; 33.5%

Obesity is the main cause of heart disease and the death rate due to heart disease in South Africa is 40%. The obesity rate has doubled as compared to the previous years.

6. United Arab Emirates; 33.7%

It is also a growing economy of the world and the trend of junk foods is at peak in this Arab state. Western foods are very common and obesity rate is at alarming levels.

5. Jordan; 34.5%

In this country 82% women of age 15 to 30 are unemployed and the obesity rate among these women is double than men. Powerful gender norms are causes of obesity.

4. Egypt; 34.6%

Teenagers in Egypt drink soda and milk three times in a day. Diabetes is also very common among the nation and obesity rate is 40% among the comity of the nation.

3. Belize; 34.6%

The people of this country are fond of eating. The trend of eating saccharine foods is very common and it leads to more obesity in the country.

2. Saudi Arabia; 35.6%

The women are more obese as compared to men again due to gender and cultural norms. The rate of diabetes is 30% in this country.

1. Kuwait; 42.8%

The influx of western junk foods has made the Kuwait a world greatest stomach stapler. The Obesity rate of women is 80% and of men is 20.5%.
