What to do if it causes slight burning sensation in stomach?

Take a glass of (warm) milk, with or after taking Chyawanprash; you will not experience any problem.

Should you take it with hot milk or cold milk?

Warm milk quickens the digestion; so it is better to take it with warm milk than cold milk.

Should you take it with ghee?

It already contains ghee as an ingredient. So, avoid taking extra ghee along with it. Milk or water is a better accompaniment for Chyawanprash rather than ghee.

Can Chyawanprash be given to kids?

Children grow up with the memories of their mothers feeding them Chyawanprash. And rightly so, it can be given to children aged 5 years and onwards. However, keep the dosage from quarter or half spoon with a glass of milk.

Chyawanprash Side Effects

  • It contains spices and condiments in a good quantity. Hence, it may cause burning sensation in stomach after consuming this herbal tonic. In such cases, it is advisable to drink warm milk after consuming Chyawanprash.
  • Some people may complain about loose stools because of amla. 
  • Because it contains sugar, diabetic patients should take it under the guidance of a doctor.
  • Chyawanprash is proven to be safe and has minimal side effects. Just remember that everybody is different and you should always consult your doctor or healthcare professional before taking any supplement.
