Marriage is supposed to be all love and bliss, but it may not be so great for your waistline or health.

Married men are more likely to be overweight than single guys, according to a new study published in the journal Families, Systems, & Health.

Studies show that married men are twice as likely to become overweight as those who are merely dating.

Many of us know (by instinct) that …. Married life can make people fat. But if you know the circumstances that lead to weight gain within a marriage, we should be better equipped to avoid or reverse it.

Does sex make you fat?

No… Sex is fattening for CARELESS people..!! But if you aren't careless, then “NO” it is not fattening at all.

It is a very popular belief that women gain fat on breasts and hips and men gain fat on tummy, once they start making love. However, this is an absolute myth. There is no physiological reason why the breasts, hips or tummy should become enlarged or disfigured after you start having sex.

There is no way you can gain fat by having sex. Sex actually burns calories. Do you know that people get hungry after sex? Reason for the hunger is that they have burned so many calories during the act that the body needs replenishing.

Why married life makes a man fat

The most common reasons to gain weight after marriage are:

- You are no longer trying to attract a partner.
- Because of financial responsibilities, you can’t spare time for workout.
- You don't care about your looks.
- Your evenings are spent in the couch, watching TV with wife.
- Wife cooks for gratification. She doesn’t think when using extra butter, oil and sugar.
- Wife interferes in your workout time.
- Wife wants you to be with her instead of spending time in the gym.
- Every weekend, you eat unhealthy and high calories foods in restaurants.
- If you are in an unhappy marriage, you don’t take care of food and fitness.

Always remember, a healthy relationship doesn't drag you down. It inspires you to be better.

Working out together with your partner + Cook healthy meals (calorie controlled) + At least 8 hours sleep + Limit your alcohol intake = better bodies, better minds and a better relationship.

Working out as a couple is one of the best ways to get your partner’s heart racing. The time you spend at the gym suddenly becomes "us" time. You don't have to choose fitness over the time you spend with your partner. Think of it this way — you are spending quality time together and you are toning your body as well. Isn’t it a great idea to spend quality time together for some constructive work?

What happens if you lead a healthy lifestyle after marriage

- Keeps You Motivated and Helps You Achieve Your Fitness Goals
- Improves Sex Life
- Increases Self-Confidence
- Increases Your Happiness with Relationships
- Increases Your Emotional Bond
- Reduces Stress
- Improves your appearance

Marriage should be an inspiration for one to become better and not an excuse for not being fit.
